FIGHTER BIO

BIO ANDERSON SILVA

To give you some indication of how good Anderson ‘Braddock’ Silva is - he is in Europe because he was invited over by Peter Aerts to be his sparring partner. Given that Peter Aerts is one of the foremost legends of the sport and obviously knows a thing or two about kickboxing, that’s a pretty big mark of distinction for the young Brazilian.

‘Braddock’ - he is nicknamed after the character Chuck Norris plays in the cult movie ‘Missing In Action’ - shares his name with the UFC middleweight champion and sometimes there is confusion between the two Anderson Silvas. They have the same name and are both Brazilian, but Braddock wants to distinguish himself in his own sport the way his namesake has in mixed martial arts.

At 25 years old, Braddock is peaking in form. In the first half of 2012 he had a fight with top-three ranked Badr Hari which, though he lost a decision, did much to raise his profile. He took the fight to the notorious former champion and showed no fear. Braddock can lay claim to being the best Brazilian heavyweight kickboxer in the world, following the tradition of Glaube Feitosa and Francisco Filho.

These days he is based in Amsterdam at the famous Chakuriki Gym, coached by the legendary trainer Thom Harinck. His sparring partners include the likes of Hesdy Gerges, Peter Aerts and Jerome Le Banner, which makes him ready for anything the top international talent in GLORY can throw at him.
